last rights

I dreamed of giving last rights
to the people of the Earth
consumed by their chemicals
deaths outnumbered births

corrupted by selfish greed
and false insecurity
gambled on their holy ghost
and hid in fantasy

say good-bye people
mother nature had a plan
and it will not be altered
by any act of man

pray for your steeple
nothing can save you there
your sons and daughters
have nothing to declare

so you cleaned a few rivers
you saved a few whales
but you're still harpooning
tearing your own sails

what about the rain forests
where do you get your air?
keep chewing your meat
and tell me you care
tell me you care
tell me you care
tell me you care

you sell out the truth for your fear
you give up happiness to despair
you'd rather choose to lose
than dare to win and risk losing
and you think nobody's aware
well they're all pretending like you
pretending to care

I dreamed of giving first rights
to the children of the Earth
letting them fulfill the promise
we are all given at birth

they can learn from mother nature
they can trust natural ways
if we don't teach them to fear truth
we can all have better days

you trade truth for fear
give up to despair
defeat yourself before you begin

you'd rather choose to lose
refuse, abuse, confuse
than dare to win
and you think no one's aware

well they're all pretending like you
pretending not to know
pretending to care

say hello people
your mother is calling you
she is trying to tell you
that your way is not true

pray for your steeple
this is the way out
trust mother nature
or die in doubt
trust mother nature
or go without
just go without
just go.
