| between the circles
people who have left my far behind friends who showed they were not true adrift at sea now, alone on the big blue wondering just what I should do and the rain falls down on the waters casting circles of over laps and I watch my life spread out the same way and I feel like I'm lost in the gaps between the circles between the social graces the ripples all collide to smother all the faces I just don't fit into the circles my movement does not follow the waves and conformity has never fit me I don't know who it saves I tried every sort of circle played every game I could find accepted sometimes, rejected sometimes still here alone in my mind in my own circle of rhymes between the circles between the great escapes the ripples all dissolve into the sea's landscapes (into the vast sea-scapes) are we getting somewhere what do you say? between the circles is where I play between the circles is where I stay between the circles again today between the circles I go my way b r e a t h e |
